As a former player and now development coach, I feel it’s essential to train year round. Some equipment and programs have been developed to assist in helping the athlete accomplish his or her goals during training.
 
It is important that development for athletes in the off season should be moderate, low impact at times, with medium to high intensity variations. The use natural resistance bands, plyometrics, and agility exercises should increase overall performance of young athletes.
